Abstract:
Maximum population of Radopholus similis was recorded in plants inoculated with R. similis alone compared to other treatments per 200 cc of soil at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. The cultivar, Girimunda, recorded 390.00, 450.80, 583.20 and 699.60 nematodes, whereas Malabar XL recorded a population of 325.20, 398.00, 425.20 and 584.00 during three days. In Shakthi, the lowest nematode population of 172.00, 211.60, 308.00 and 352.40 nematodes was observed in simultaneous inoculation of R. similis and P. capsici treatment. Panchami inoculated with R. similis alone recorded nematode population of 268.00, 367.20, 466.40 and 591.80 per 200 cc of soil at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. However, the plants with simultaneous inoculation of R. similis and P. capsici yielded the lowest number of 199.20, 279.20 and 353.60 nematodes at 30, 60 and 90 days after treatment, followed by the plants inoculated with R. similis 15 days before inoculation of P. capsici which recorded 281.20, 410.80, 449.60, 574.00 at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days after treatment. In Shreekara, at 30 and 60 days after inoculation of R. similis and 15 days before inoculation of P. capsici, recorded the highest nematode populations per 200 cc soil (248.80 and 323.60).
