Author Guidelines

Journal of soil biology and ecology will accept original articles (in English only) on various aspects of research on soil fauna and flora. 

Below mentioned are some guidelines that have to be adhered to while submitting a manuscript to the journal:

1. Papers submitted for publication in the journal should not have been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. 

2. Manuscripts should be addressed with a covering letter to Editor-In-Chief, Journal of Soil Biology and Ecology through email ID issbeblore@gmail.com (cc to djbagyaraj@gmail.com).

3. Papers may, as far as possible, be organized as Abstract, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results and Discussion, Acknowledgements, References, Tables, and Figures. 

4. All pages should be numbered serially. 

5. Article should be formatted to A4 size, double space, Times New Roman, font 12.

6. Tables and figures pertinent to the text should only be included and numbered in Arabic numeral with short heading.

7. References should be cited as in the following format: 

   • Journal Articles : Singh, M.P. and Sinha, M.M., 2006. Some cutworm pests in Bihar. Indian J. Ent., 27:113-114.

   • Book Chapter: Powell, C.L.,1984.Field inoculation with VA mycorrhizal fungi.In: VA Mycorrhiza (Eds.) Powell, C.L. and Bagyaraj, D.J.,CRC Press Inc., Boca Raton, pp.205-222. 

   • Book: Edwards, C.A. and Lofty, J.R.,1972.Biology of Earthworms, Chapman and Hall Ltd., London, 283p. 

   • Thesis: Dhanya, D., 2014. Evaluation of microbial seed priming in relation to seed germination, plant growth promotion in Morinda citrifolia L. (Noni), M. Sc. Thesis, UAS, Bangalore, p160.

8. After acceptance of the manuscript for publication all the authors should become Life Members of the Society by paying membership charge. 

Note: Manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines and to the style of the journal will be returned for amendment and resubmission resulting in publication delays.
