Abstract :
Bacillus spp. are widely used in agriculture in order to promote the plants growth. Considering this, the present study was carried out to isolate and characterize the Bacillus spp. from different cereal rhizosphere soil. Twenty Bacillus spp. were isolated from rhizosphere soil samples collected from Raichur and Gulbarga district. Dried soil samples were analysed for the pH, EC, organic carbon content and enzyme activity. All the isolates were Gram positive, rod shaped and motile in nature.
