Foraging strategies of the workers of Odontotermes horni on various organic matter
Author: N. G. KUMAR
Abstract :
The study focused on how worker termites of O. horni forage for different food sources. They were found to forage under earthen sheetings of various shapes and sizes, depending on the foraging site and season. Active foraging was observed during cooler hours of the day. This species is efficient in harvesting food without wasting energy while transporting either food or soil particles on the tree trunk.
